Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cowling are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary Nov. 10. Jeanne and Larry were married 50 years ago, on Nov. 10, 1956, at the First Presbyterian Church in Glenwood Springs. Their journey together has taken them from Aspen to Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Meeker, and now Bigfork, Montana. Proud family members include son Tracey (Libby) Cowling of Glenwood Springs, daughter Tammy (Kevin) Wahl of Marion, Mont., and six grandchildren. Katherine Smith and James Bogden exchanged wedding vows Aug. 12, 2006, at Rifle Creek Golf Course. Katherine, daughter of Karen and Michael Smith, is a lifelong Roaring Fork Valley resident. James is originally from Montana and works in the oil field industry.

Army National Guard Pvt. Mark B. Messick has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.He is the son of Brian Messick of Rifle and a 2006 graduate of William Smith High School in Aurora.
