Zachary and Kresta St. Jean are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Parker Rawlings St. Jean, at 7:33 p.m. Oct. 15, 2007, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 1/2 inch long at birth.Proud grandparents are Lyle and Dixie Fouch and Richard and Mary St. Jean, all of Delta.

A new memorial bench in Two Rivers Park is in place thanks to the donation by longtime Glenwood Springs Lions Club member Rudolf (Rudy) Ralff, who passed away Oct. 28.The bench and an accompanying flowering crabapple tree are located midway between the east side of the bandstand and the totem pole.The bench was purchased by Rudy and installed by Lions, with the help of the Glenwood Springs Parks Department. The memorial honors him and also longtime Lion Bob Belcher.

Amber Day and Dan Stoddard symbolized their love and devotion by uniting in marriage Oct. 13, 2007, at Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas, with close friends and family in attendance. Amber is the Credit Manager of Labor Source in Basalt. Dan works for T&E Marshall Enterprises in Basalt. The couple resides in Glenwood Springs.



Happy birthday to Joan Hollingsworth, of Glenwood Springs, who turned 60 Oct. 29.

The Delta Karate League Tournament was held Nov. 3. This was an all-day United States Karate Alliance maximum point qualifier for Nationals.All Brian Mable Karate School competitors placed in their divisions. Isaac Lang placed third in open hand forms and third in sparring (10 and under Beginner Division). Katie Trent placed fourth in open hand forms and first in sparring (12-year-old Advanced Division). Alex Henderson placed fourth in open hand forms and first in sparring (Teen Advanced Division). Jonathan Deleo placed fourth in open hand forms and third in sparring (Adult Advanced Division). Instructor Ken Newton placed second in weapons forms (Adult Black Belt Division).Congratulations to all competitors for their accomplishments and thanks to the DKL for hosting this event.Brian Mable Karate School classes are held Monday through Thursday at the Hotel Colorado Gym.
