Family photo for VW owners

Volkswagen owners are a dedicated bunch. And while veterans who’ve rebuilt the engine on their Bug at the side of the road in Baja or spent a winter camping in a Westfalia may not feel an immediate brotherhood with those driving 2003 Passats, it’s still a family thing.

With that in mind, the Aspen Chamber Resort Association invites all Roaring Fork Volkswagen owners together at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Aspen’s Holden/Marolt field (40180 Highway 82), where VW will be shooting a community photograph of VW owners and their vehicles.

Andrew Essrog and Angela Gardner, winners of VW’s recent “Why I’m Adventurous” essay contest, will host the event in their new Volkswagen Touareg and will record the event and their time in the Roaring Fork Valley for their online journal at http://www.away.com. The photo will also be used in different local and national campaigns ” no matter if you’ve got a 1956 VW bus or a brand new Jetta, feel free to drop by and take part.
