Allison will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C., next month to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring everything from Capitol Hill to the Smithsonian Institute to Colonial Williamsburg, Va., to the National Museum of American History. Allison will examine the characteristics of American leadership, participate in small-group discussions and exercises to experience firsthand how successful leaders develop strategies, make decisions, build consensus, and foster change.Allison was nominated to the program by her teachers at Sopris Elementary and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement, and leadership potential.Allison was nominated to the program by her teachers at Sopris Elementary and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement, and leadership potential.
