Mother’s Day delivery

Evelyn Shultz and Terry DeGall, members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5485 in Parachute, made a visit to the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Rifle. The two delivered handmade sachet pillows and bookmarks to women in the nursing home in honor of Mother’s Day.



Madrid-Sanchez wedding

Javier Madrid and Esthela Sanchez will be married June 5, 2004. The reception will be at the Hotel Colorado.



McSwain benefit

There will be a garage sale to benefit the Gracie McSwain family from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 22. Prepriced items in good condition will be collected from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Gracie McSwain is the girl who was bitten in the face by a dog in Glenwood Springs. Information: 947-9980 or 945-5010.

Brandon Vath to Middle East

Brandon Vath, a U.S. Air Force staff sergeant, has been deployed to the Middle East to serve along side his younger brother Ryan. Vath is the son of Ray and Lis Vath of Silt. Thanks for your service, Ryan and Brandon!

Brendon Bolton, Charles Terrell, Kelley Burns, Monica Gilmore, Sarah McDaniel, and Steven Rippy II, all of New Castle, and Elicia Smith, Michael Barksdale, and Seth Washburn of Glenwood Springs all graduated from Mesa State College on May 9, 2004.
