Opportunity to give

Earth Day Celebration planning is well under way in Glenwood Springs, and scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 24. The first Earth Day, organized in 1970, continues to be a significant happening throughout the world.

Our celebration will be held in Two Rivers Park between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Various information booths and entertainment events will be ongoing throughout the day, highlighting environmental and social topics relating to our Earth.

A poster contest is being held in the schools for all ages from K to 12th grades. This will be our main publicity tool for the celebration as well as T-shirts and canvas bags. All sponsors will be listed on the poster that will be distributed throughout the region.

Earth Day is an entirely volunteer event and at this time we are seeking sponsors who can donate funds to cover our costs for printing the poster, the T-shirts, as well as the canvas bags. We estimate the total costs to be $3,050.

We would appreciate any donation you would feel comfortable making toward the expenses for our celebration. Thank you for all your help and support of our efforts to honor this day of our Earth. Please make all checks payable to Earth Day Celebration 2004 and mail to 716 Palmer, No. 2, Glenwood Springs. For further information, contact LadyHawk at 384-2287.

Sincerely,

LadyHawke
