Riverside parents meet
The next meeting of New Castle’s Riverside Association of Parents will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Riverside library. All Riverside parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
4-Wheelers meet in Glenwood
The High Country 4-Wheelers monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at a new location: Los Desperados Mexican Restaurant in West Glenwood Springs. All off-road and ATV enthusiasts are invited to attend.
Spring Gulch trails closed for race
Trails at Spring Gulch Nordic Ski will be closed to the public on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7, for the Alpine Bank Classic, a state-wide ski event for middle school, high school and junior skiers. The race will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday; spectators are asked to find a vantage point before 10:15 a.m.
For the Joy of Music
Enjoy fine Italian dining and music at Basalt Middle School’s “For the Joy of Music,” a fund-raising dinner and concert held on Friday, Feb. 6, at the school. Raffle, cake auction, silent auction. $8 per person, $25 for a family of four. Advance tickets available at the school or at the door. Ski Spree hits Sunlight
Sunlight Mountain will host the Pepsi Ski Spree on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 7-8. Saturday’s events include the Cardboard Box Derby, the Sunlight Extreme Competition, a Park Style competition and a torchlight parade at dusk. Sunday’s events include the Need for Speed race, the Dual Slalom race and the Big Air Contest. Awards to be held both days at 3:30 p.m. Information: 945-7491 or http://www.sunlightmtn.com.
Clay gifts for Valentine’s Day
Make your own special Valentine’s Day gift at the Carbondale Clay Center. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, adults and children can make heart-shaped boxes, bowls, vases or whatever they please. $35 per person, $50 for an adult-child combo or $27 for clay center members.
