I-70 resurfacing work near Parachute

The Colorado Department of Transportation is conducting an 18.5-mile resurfacing project from mile marker 68 to 86.5 on Interstate 70 east and west of Parachute. (The Parachute exit is at mile marker 75.) For the duration of the project, which will continue through November, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in either direction through the work zones. Hours of work will be as daylight permits, Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. The speed limit through the construction zones will be 40 mph.

Road Work on Midland Avenue and South Grand

The city of Glenwood Springs will have a contractor patching and crack-sealing Midland Avenue, from the intersection of Interstate 70 south to Airport Road, and South Grand Avenue from 23rd Street and Highway 82 to the cemetery. Work will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through May 6, and may cause slight traffic delays. There will be flaggers on hand to make sure traffic can get through the work zone safely.

Adult dance classes

Dance classes for adults 18 and older continue at the Glenwood Springs Community Center on Fridays April 30, May 7, May 14 and May 21. Beginning salsa is from 7-8 p.m., country western from 8-9 p.m., and intermediate West Coast swing from 9-10 p.m. Instructor Lesly Adams has taught dance for more than 20 years. Classes cost $24 for residents, and $30 for nonresidents. Drop-ins are welcome, and cost is $7 for residents, and $8 for nonresidents. A couples discount is available. Register: 384-6301.

CMC Theatre presents ‘Spoon River Anthology’

The Colorado Mountain College Theatre will present “Spoon River Anthology” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 30. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $9 for seniors, children and students.

Eagles hold yard sale

Eagles Aerie 215 will hold a yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, rain or shine, at Johnson’s Miniature Golf parking lot in West Glenwood. Class helps parents with divorce

A parenting through divorce class, Saturday, May 1, in Glenwood Springs is designed to help parents raise healthy children despite divorce and is required to finalize a divorce in many jurisdictions. Preregistration is required. Information: Bob, 625-9552.

Canoe and kayak shop holds swap

Colorado Canoe and Kayak at 910 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs will hold its Kayak Swap from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2. Advice is available for beginners. Information: 928-9949.
