Waldorf School in action
The Waldorf School will host a tour of the grades during classes today at 8:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to see the classes “in action” followed by a question-and-answer session with the enrollment coordinator. Information: Julie Mulcahy, 963-1960.
Carbondale recreation survey
The Carbondale recreation department has mailed out surveys to determine how the town’s recreation sales tax funds should be spent and to help draft a recreation master plan. The surveys are also available at town hall for residents who didn’t receive one, or for people who live outside the town limits. Information: Jeff Jackel, 963-2733.

Community Center open house
The Glenwood Springs Community Center is offering a free open house to the Fitness Center at the Community Center from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. Fire department open house
The Silt Fire Department celebrates its recent union with the New Castle and Silt ambulance services with an open house, held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15. Enjoy refreshments and consider volunteering for the department. Information: 876-5738.
Embroiderers’ Guild
The Glenwood Springs Group of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America will meet at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at a new location ” Mountain View Church, next to Buffalo Valley. Information: Becca, 945-7434.
Mountain sports sale
The Mount Sopris Nordic Council will sponsor its 18th annual Mountain Sports Sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School gym. Buy or sell equipment for nordic and alpine skiing, snowboarding, cycling, boating, camping and golf. Equipment check-in is from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the CRMS gym. Sale proceeds benefit the Spring Gulch ski trails. CRMS is one mile west of the stoplight at Highway 133 and Main Street. Information: 948-5877.
Wine tasting
St. Stephen’s School and Turtle’s Liquor will host a wine-tasting benefit from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. $20 per person. To purchase tickets: St. Stephen’s School, 945-7746. Enjoy more than 20 wines from around the world and sample delicious hors d’oeuvres. Colorado distributors include Bookcliff Vineyards, Continental Divide, High Point Brewing, Snowmass Creek Winery, Southern Wine, Spirit of Colorado and Turtle’s Liquor. Must be 21 years old to attend.
