The Glenwood Springs Parks Department will temporarily close the road entrance to Two Rivers Park from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, for park maintenance work. Nonmotorized access will still be permitted. Closure will be weather dependent. Information: 384-6366.

The Carbondale Recreation Department will hold a self-defense class for women ages 17 and up from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Carbondale Town Hall. The cost is $25. Pre-registration is required at the Carbondale Recreation Department.

New Age health and insight is offered at Ricki McKenna’s “Emergence of the Goddess” classes, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at A Spiritual Center, 0695 Buggy Circle, Carbondale. Class one, “Processing,” discusses what food does for the body, additives, illness and raw foods. Discover “secrets” doctors won’t or can’t tell; learn techniques for purchasing, storing and cooking food. Information/reservations: 927-1373.
