Workshop onEmployment IssuesThe fourth Mid-Valley Business Workshop, “Employment: Practical and Legal Perspectives,” including new federal overtime laws effective in August, will take place at CMC Lappala Center in Carbondale from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 23. An invitation is extended to anyone wishing to attend, regardless of whether or not you were a member of one of these graduating classes. Bring a potluck dish and renew old acquaintances. Information: Jackie Gross, 963-2200.Summer skate seeks small skatersThe Aspen Summer Skate program is looking for skaters 5 and younger to drive the Zamboni for a show at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 4, at the Aspen Ice Garden. Skaters will push miniature Zambonis over the ice while skating to the song “I Wanna Drive the Zamboni.” There is a fee of $15 per driver. Mandatory rehearsals will be from 12:30-1 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Lewis Ice Arena and at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 4, at the Aspen Ice Garden. Information: Jenny Nelson, 544-4116.’Light Travels’at Village Smithy”Light Travels,” a photography exhibit by Shellene Hanan of PhotoGraphics, will be on display at The Village Smithy, 26 S. 3rd St. in Carbondale, until Aug. 2. Hanan’s photographs feature abstract landscapes, and some works were most recently exhibited at the Nexus Gallery in New York City.GSHS Choirto perform atStorm King MemorialCurrent and former GSHS choir members are invited to participate in the Storm King memorial on the evening of Tuesday, July 6, for the closing musical piece.
