Ralffs celebrate 50 years
Rudy and Frances H. Ralff are celebrating their 50th anniversary today. They were married May 5, 1956, in Madison, Wis. They have lived in Glenwood Springs since 1989. Congratulations! He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long at birth.Tristan, age 10, is really excited to have a new baby brother. Proud grandparents are David and Cheryl Denton, of Glenwood Springs, Robert and Ann Rush, of Burlington, and Barbara Rush, also of Burlington.Virgili-Wood engagementJohn and Marianne Virgili, of Glenwood Springs, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Mary Virgili, to Michael Christopher Wood. Megan graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 1997. Michael is the son of Dan and Mary Wood, of Sacramento, Calif. The couple met in graduate school at the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif., where they both obtained master’s degrees in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). They reside in Boulder, where Megan is a GIS specialist for an environmental consulting firm. Michael is using GIS as a transportation router for Denver Public Schools. A fall wedding in Aspen is being planned.Outward BoundThe Cliff Browning Memorial Scholarship is proud to announce Glenwood Springs High School Sophomore Brooke Lockard as the winner of this year’s Outward Bound Scholarship. Every year, the scholarship provides full tuition with gear for a GSHS student to attend a 22-day Colorado Outward Bound course. Brooke is the youngest candidate to be selected for this award – she is also the fifth candidate to be selected since the program was started by the Browning family in 2001.
