Great job by Basalt emergency crews

This letter is to express my gratitude to the entire Basalt Fire District and EMS team that worked on Nov. 22.

My husband and I and our two young nieces were in a roll-over accident on Highway 82 near El Jebel, and the EMS team completely took my nieces under their wing, and even gave them teddy bears to hold after the major wreck. They also volunteered to give us a ride back to Glenwood Springs, as our truck was totaled, and we had just recently moved to the area from New York and had no other options.

I would also like to say thank you to the anonymous couple in the green Ford truck that let my nieces sit and warm up in their vehicle before the emergency vehicles arrived. We really appreciate everyone’s efforts and compassion that day to ensure our safety.

Rams supporters are tops

Thank you to our community for the incredible support you showed our school at the semi-final 2A football game. It was heartwarming to see all the people who came to cheer for the Roaring Fork Rams.

Thanks to Mark Gray and the CMS band, Joan Knab and the BMS band and Chris Bank from the RFHS band for pulling together an energetic pep band. Thanks to the many volunteers who put on the fund-raiser for Mike Schilling’s medical expenses.

Thank you to the parents of Roaring Fork who manned the Booster Club concession stand. Thanks to the football parents for their support. To all of you: Thanks for the noise, the cheers and the tears. Your team always knew you were there.

Thanks to the staff of Roaring Fork. Without the efforts of our Athletic Director, Larry Williams, our custodians, and our maintenance crew, many details would not have been covered. Thanks to the student body and graduates who dressed in spirit, painted their faces and screamed their support. Thanks, too, to the Chain Gang, and Mike Fahrenkrug. A special thank you to the cheerleaders, Jessica, Ashley, Stacia and Patsy.

Thank you, Coach Jensen, the leader, who guided the players and the many other coaches who worked with the Rams. They have been tireless in their devotion to the Rams football team of 2003.

And what a team it has been! They are fine students and excellent representatives of our school and valley. Thank you for the unforgettable season.

Sincerely,

Wendy S. Moore

Glenwood Vet Clinic gives great care

A few months ago, I found my horse severely injured, and I contacted Glenwood Veterinary Clinic for emergency help. Dr. Coffman and Dr. Bohanon treated her, but we soon discovered the injury to be more extensive then first thought. Dr. Bohanon performed surgery, and Lady was on her way to recovery. Unfortunately, it was not to be, and Lady had to move on to greener pastures.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the hard-working and caring staff at Glenwood Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Coffman and Lisa for their emergency care and follow up, to Dr. Bohanon and Penny for their incredible surgical skills, care, as well as your great bedside manner and ease of making very difficult decisions. You are all truly incredible. Glenwood Springs is very lucky to have you.

Thank you,

Barb Sinclair
