Readers Say Thanks

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone that assisted in the rescue of Terri Wood on Sunlight Mountain on Jan. 24.

I’m sorry that I don’t know the names of everyone, but you are as important as the ones that I do know.

Thanks to the Glenwood Springs Fire Department, Garfield County Search and Rescue, Sunlight Ski Patrol, and Life Flight from Grand Junction.

Most of all, thanks to Keith Winkler, who was alert and adamant enough to where his father would finally listen to him, to make him turn around and come back and rescue me. If that had not happened, I am well assured I would have died on that mountain that night.

Many thanks to Carroll Winkler, who was the first to assist me and keep me comfortable on the scene and then ran for help. God already knows my heart.
