Dear Editor,

We represent a small group of students within Yampah Mountain High School called The Busk.

The Busk has a goal to have youth music supported in the community. Our mission is to put on substance-free events that allow youth to be able to express themselves through music.

So far we’ve had two shows that have been extremely successful and have had a great turnout of appreciative young adults that have been waiting for this opportunity.

Our goal could not have been made possible without the willing support of the community. We owe our thanks to Scott Chaplin from the Stepstone Center. Scott has helped us get The Busk up and running. Scott believes in our goal and is eager to support the youth in our community by helping them find a constructive way to express themselves. We want to thank him for his consistent efforts in making this possible.

Our other major supporters have been Monk Burkmeier with stage set-up, Matt McBrayer with sound equipment, Alec Raffin with educational support from Mpower, CCAH with space rental and support, and the talented bands who have volunteered to play.

Thank you for everything!

Samantha Pickard

My wife Jean Gilbertson died on March 12 of this year. So many people have expressed condolences. I have no other way to thank them but by this letter. I don’t want to leave anyone out.

With a gracious heart I express my thanks to everyone. I am doing fine and getting on with my life thanks to Jesus.

God Bless,

Jack Gilbertson
