Glenwood Springs Recycling Center

The Lions Club of Glenwood wishes to thank publicly all the great assistance we received during our recent Vision Fair, held April 3 at CMC’s Glenwood campus.

In addition to four dedicated local eye doctors and their assistants, we want to thank the college for use of its space, the Glenwood Springs Post Independent and radio station KMTS for their timely news items, the six Spanish interpreters, and our numerous volunteers who manned the event.

And, of course, we are heartened by the 100-plus persons who came out to participate in the free eye screenings. We believe such screenings and vision information are helpful in providing proper eye care for all.

Come back and see us next spring. We expect to offer an even greater Vision Fair in 2005. After all, it was the late Helen Keller who challenged Lions to become “Knights of the Blind,” and we are striving to do just that through our continuing “photo-screener” and “visigraph” eye-testing activities.

Finally, watch for our anticipated “Kids Fair” this fall, when we hope to offer free sight and hearing tests for area children.

Sincerely,

Gary Broetzman

Lions Club President
