Readers Say Thanks
Dear Editor,
I would like to thank John Hines and the City Electric Department for their prompt response to a power outage at Glenwood Caverns.
A few weeks ago we experienced a power outage during the early morning. John Hines, Electric Department manager, was contacted, and within an hour the electric department responded by bringing a generator up the mountain to run the lights in the cave and the upper visitor’s center. We had cave tours running by 10:00!
This prompt service allowed us to run uninterrupted and helped us salvage a very busy tourist weekend. The power outage ended up being much more serious than we first thought. As a result, the electric department allowed us to utilize the generator for three days.
It’s great to know the City Electric Department will step up in an emergency situation to help local businesses.
Thanks,
Steve Beckley
