Readers Say Thanks
This is the final weekend of Thunder River Theatre Company’s “The Firebugs,” and of our ninth season. I want to take a moment to thank our supporters and the press. Bringing attention to our productions is a huge help.
TRTC is your homegrown professional theater company. We have land in downtown Carbondale under contract for our new theater, centrally located for our valleywide patrons. TRTC is committed to investing in our community, and we believe that this project will enhance the quality of life for our community.
TRTC for Young People will be offering a two-week summer theater camp in July. (Stay tuned!) As part of our ongoing Latino Theatre Initiative, we have partnered with La Mision to bring bilingual performance to our community. We performed a short piece at the Cinco de Mayo celebration and will again at the Festival Las Americas. We are developing a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration to bring together performers from both the Latino and Anglo populations in our community.
TRTC is part of Carbondale. Together, we can build our new theater and provide a permanent home for professional theater, educational outreach, our Latino Theatre Initiative, and a place to teach our children the theater arts. We are looking to the future with pride.
