Readers say thanks
I never realized how many friends God had blessed me and my family with until this past week. The outpouring of love, support and prayers has been absolutely overwhelming and heartwarming. The days after my mothers sudden death have been followed by a steady stream of uplifting words of encouragement from the entire community, and for that I am deeply grateful. Until her last hours, my mom was focused on being kind and loving to others and not being a burden. Despite a successful heart surgery, though, God decided her faithful service on this earth was done and done well. I hope in the days ahead, God will use me as he did my mother, to be a blessing in someones life.Even as a widow on a fixed income, Mom would always declare, my cup runneth over! Despite my loss, I can say the same thing, because Im blessed to live in such a loving, caring community.Ron Milhorn and family(Randalea, Brock, Boyd and Bryann)Rifle
The Glenwood Springs High School wrestling team, the coaches, and the Brickell family would sincerely like to thank Jim Garland and the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge for hosting the end-of-the-year wrestling banquet, after a 10-year hiatus. It was very special to have the banquet at the lodge, with fond memories from before, and many to come, now that the program is back in the valley. Thanks to the cooks and the servers, as well. Your support of our local youth does not go unnoticed.A special thank-you to H.A. Salam, owner of the Pro Shop, for the award given in memory of Cody.Lynette Brickell Glenwood Springs
This letter was originally sent to Gary Brewer, Valley View Hospital CEORetired and visiting our daughter and son-in-law in the lovely Crystal River Valley, I experienced my first heart incident. Shortly after midnight on March 20, my husband drove me to the Valley View Hospital emergency room. For the next 11 hours, from my care in the emergency room to my hours in the Critical Care Unit, I was treated by the most caring and capable staff. I cannot possibly name all the people who attended to my needs, but Karen, Helen and Dr. Neuman were in the emergency room. Mike and Judy and Dr. Inscore were in the CCU. Each person technician, nurse, doctor introduced herself or himself and explained why they were attending me as well as exactly what they were doing. They were consistently competent, considerate and kind. In the late morning, even the housekeeper cleaning my room smiled and asked if I was feeling better. How fortunate are the people of your area to have a hospital that provides such caring, excellent service. And to each of you at Valley View Hospital, thank you!Helen M. LeveSusanville, Calif.
