The New Castle Booster Clubs 13th annual Spring Carnival took place on Friday, April 15, at Riverside Middle School. Approximately 600 adults and children enjoyed an evening of games, prizes and food. With the event serving as the booster clubs sole annual fund-raiser, the group works hard to provide a fun, safe evening, while at the same time raising money to fund various projects to benefit children at both Kathyrn Senor Elementary and Riverside Middle schools. For the fourth year, the New Castle Lions Club has been honored to provide an affordable dinner and snacks at the carnival. Our club enjoys preparing for and being included in this popular community event. Net dinner proceeds are split in half with the booster club, and this year we are honored to be able to present them with a check for $565 toward their projects. Our share will go toward helping buy glasses for those who cannot afford them, building bus shelters, and the like. Were grateful to our community businesses and individuals who made this donation possible. Special thanks go to City Market, Pepsi-Cola, West Canyon Tree Farm, The Picket Fence, Garcias Market, Innermountain Distributing Co., Karen Partain, Kum & Go, Danette Romero and Phil Shaffer. Kudos also to carnival chairs Raquel Duran and Robin Burkett for a job well done in organizing the event. Our thanks for these fine donations, to all that attended the carnival and to our fellow Lions who helped serve throughout the evening.Judy Shaffer, Jim Warnevent chairman and chairwomanNew Castle Lions Club
