Readers Say Thanks
Junior Girl Scout Troop 134 would like to thank High Tails Dog and Cat Outfitters for helping us to achieve our Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn.
To earn this award, we were required to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project making a positive impact on the community.
During a pet adoption event, we shared information to help parents and children better understand dog behavior and how to be safe around unfamiliar animals. Other activities at the event included agility testing, tracking demonstration and pet massage.
We couldn’t have done this project or had so much fun without the support and training from the High Tails owners and staff. We appreciate their willingness to let the six of us take part in the event and to demonstrate our commitment to helping parents and children choose the right pet for their families.
We would also like to thank the Hampton Inn for hosting our group of girls and parents. We appreciated the hospitality and generosity that we were shown during our stay in Glenwood Springs. Thank you.

A very big thank-you to the residents of Prince Creek who showed up on Saturday, May 14, and cleaned up an astonishing amount of trash and junk along the road and riparian areas.
Sincere appreciation is also extended to members of the High Country 4 Wheelers, who showed up on Wednesday evening, May 18, and picked up accumulated debris in the Spring Creek area.
The BLM greatly values the active participation of volunteer groups in public lands cleanup efforts and extends its thanks on behalf of those who enjoy these lands.
