The Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge had another record year at Strawberry Days this year. I would like to take this time to thank the businesses and people that helped us in this successful endeavor:

The Chamber of Commerce (Shiela), without whose help this event would not run smoothly; LaFarge (Phil Long) who provides us with “the grill” to make the wonderful sausage; Coors (Kevin and Dwayne) for allowing us the use of a cooler in their truck; 19th Street Diner (Swanee) for bailing us out when items were low; and the Kiwanis Cub for their vigilant trash pickup.

A huge thank-you to the people in our community who enjoyed our food booth and helped us to raise money for our Perpetual Scholarship fund. This fund assists our local kids get scholarships for college. Without the support you provide, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish what we do.

The Carbondale Tree Board would like to thank all those that made the Arbor Day 2005 Celebration on Saturday, April 30, such a huge success:

The Village Smithy, American Tree and Cement, Red Rock Diner, Grana Bread, and Carbondale Domino’s for the great food for our hungry volunteers; to the Public Works crew for all the prep and clean-up, and most importantly, to all of our hardworking volunteers for planting 10 trees in Gianinetti-Sewell Park. The fruits of your labor will be enjoyed for many years to come!
