Readers Say Thanks

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this year’s Hogback Hustle 5K race in New Castle. It was a great turnout, and I hope everyone enjoyed the race. Thank you to Boy Scout Troop 221 for a wonderful post-race breakfast. Thanks also to the race volunteers for helping in so many different ways. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our extremely generous sponsors.

Runners enjoyed great awards, raffle prizes and goodie bags donated by over 50 local businesses. The entire race expenses were covered by monetary donations. Therefore, 100 percent of the registration fees will be given to Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers and the Boy Scouts, two great organizations that provide valuable services to our community.

RFOV will have a project day in New Castle on Sept. 24 to finish building the Colorow Trail, located at the north end of Castle Valley. To sign up for the project or for more information about RFOV, please visit their Web site at http://www.rfov.org, or call 927-8241.

Thanks again, and I hope to see you all at next year’s Hogback Hustle!
