The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts recently held a chairlift chair sale fund-raiser. The sale was a huge success, and we now have funds for troop activities.

This sale would not have been such a success without the support and generosity of the Aspen Skiing Co. (especially Doug McKenzie and Hans Hohl), who donated the Woodrun and Burlingame chairs to us, local radio and newspapers who helped us advertise, and all who bought chairs. Thank you very much for continuing to support the more than 150 Girl and Boy Scouts of Basalt.

Each Wednesday evening at this year’s Summer of Jazz, we were able to use the parking lot at Two Rivers Plaza for a fund-raiser for the Glenwood Springs High School cheerleading squad.

We would like to publicly thank John Neil, Steve Carver and Lynn Kleager, owners of Two Rivers Plaza, for allowing us to use their parking lot. Bill Parks and Dave Merritt were also helpful in this process.

A big thank-you goes out to all of you that contributed to our fund by parking there! We look forward to seeing you at our GSHS sporting events.
