Thank you for honoring David Hayes as Man of the Year at the Taste of Carbondale celebration.

I’d like to give special thanks to the Carbondale Board of Trustees for the proclamation to David for outstanding achievement in the town of Carbondale. The town is a very important part of David’s daily life. He enjoys working here, and he loves our town.

Also, thanks to “Big Mama” Kathy Ortiz and everyone who helped David get his new bike. The picture (Valley Journal cover, July 21) tells it all.

How fulfilling it is for David to live in this community with such supporting friends in everything he does.

The Glenwood Springs Recreation Department expresses a sincere thank-you to all of the volunteer coaches of our summer youth baseball program. It’s such a great feeling to see all the adults who are committed to the children in our community. The efforts of volunteer coaches go beyond the game by offering a safe and positive environment that will provide great memories for all to share. Next time you see one of these coaches, please thank them for supporting the youth of our community: Jay Heim, Jeff Kidd, Todd Leahy, Lance Larsen, Christine Page, Thad Neislanik, Charlie Wirth, Ned Mechling, Paul Burbidge, Bruce Gentry, Jim Yellico, Adolfo Gorra, Greg Thornton, Nina Thornton, Bill Hilderbrand, Mike and Tami Kalmon, Bill Barham, Steve Gamba, Mike Wilde, Justin Hale, and all the parents.

A sponsors’ thank-you will appear in a future edition of the Post Independent.
