Readers say thanks
The loss of our father, brother and friend has been an unbelievable loss. This loss has been made easier to bear, because of the overwhelming out pouring of love and support we have received from Norbert’s many, many wonderful and thoughtful friends. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Gregg Anderson of the Prince of Peace Chapel for a very moving and beautiful service. Also to Jon Summers, Bo Hale and Geraldine Shimer. Your wonderful music was exactly right. Thank you all for donating your time and sharing your special gifts with us. The Elks Club was also very generous in donating their facility and staff for the reception following the service. The food was wonderful, thanks to PJ of Backdoor Catering and Jimmy Nadell of Conundrum Catering. We would also like to thank the Basalt Fire Department; your handling of the tragedy was both thoughtful and gracious. We know this was a difficult task for you, as Norbert was also your friend. Norbert will be missed by many wonderful people. Thank you. The family of Norbert AnthesCarbondale
Recently, Rifle hosted the regional tournament for Destination Imagination. I had the privilege of being one of the appraisers, and also helping to raise money for the tournament. To the following companies and individuals who gave so generously, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! EnCana, Rifle Chiropractic Clinic, Subway and Wal-Mart topped our list of sponsors. Chamaigne Wade with EnCana, and Michael Higginbotham, the owner of Subway, and Raelene, his manager, went above and beyond for the children. We also received donations from Farmers Union Insurance in Rifle, Dave and Nancy Smucker, Rifle Insurance Agency, City Market, Swallow Oil Company, Red River Inn, Weiss and Associates, An Exquisite Design, the Rusty Cannon Motel, Kim Quick and Calamity Jane’s.And a big “thanks” to those who put money in the buckets. To work with each and every one of these people and their companies was awesome.Annie MillerRifle

Imagine a world in which there are two types of people: the “certified vaccinated” who, as the name implies, received a COVID vaccination, and those who didn’t.
