On May 7, 2006, the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge #2286 held a benefit to raise funds to assist myself, Ben Russell, Steve Lundin, and Terry Galbreath with our medical bills and other expenses that we have incurred while fighting colon cancer and other related medical problems.Because of the generosity of literally hundreds of businesses and individuals from Grand Junction to Aspen, the benefit was a huge success.Since there were so many contributors, we are unable to thank each one individually at this time, but we do want to express our sincere thanks to each and every one of you who contributed to this cause. Thank you so much.We also would like to express our thanks to the hundreds of people that came out and supported us on that amazing day. Without your support, none of this would have been possible. Thank all of you very much. The business owners and the citizens up and down this valley are truly wonderful, generous people and we cannot express how truly thankful we are to all of you. We are blessed to live in such a wonderful area with truly wonderful people as friends and neighbors. We also feel we owe a great deal of thanks to all of our fellow Elk members at the Glenwood Springs Lodge for allowing this benefit to take place. As many of you know, that is what the Elks are all about, helping others, be they fellow members or simply members of the community. This is truly a great organization and a great lodge. Finally, the four of us would like to say thank you to the many members that worked day and night on this event. Without the hard work of these individuals, the event would have not been possible. Thank you all very much.Doug Meyers, Ben Russell, Steve Lundin, and Terry GalbreathGlenwood Springs Elks Lodge # 2286

Wow, a cave of marble! Yes, we toured the Marble Quarry and what a thrill it was. Our thanks go out to the Marble History Museum and Marble Quarry for allowing a small group of people to tour each day of this Memorial Day weekend. Special thanks to Gary, Kim and Tom for working on their days off to show us this special place. We’ll remember it always, what a treat. Donna Accardi and Jeff JablonskiCarbondale
