I would like to thank The Roaring Fork Conservancy for sponsoring the float trip on the Roaring Fork River and the barbecue afterward on June 3. Their generous gesture toward the community afforded the participants the opportunity to experience a float trip in a mixed developed/undeveloped setting while gaining information and insight into the plant and wildlife communities associated with the river. It provided the newcomer and visitor, especially, with an appreciation for the special scenery and resources present in this valley.Jon FreemanGlenwood Springs
Goodbyes are always hard, and it is with a heavy heart, but a heart full of great memories that Harland and I say goodbye. For the past 12 years, I have been at Tim’s Tools in Silt. Eight as an employee, and four as partial owner. We have made some great friends and met some wonderful people in the great town of Silt. It is time to start another chapter in our lives. I just hope that it will be as rewarding as the last 12 years have been.I loved every minute of serving our customers, and I hope I served you all well. You made our lives such a blessing, and wish all of you all the best. We will miss you all.Harland and Jerri Walker Silt

Another Glenwood Springs City Council election has passed, but we doubt about two-thirds of Glenwood residents even noticed — certainly not based on the pathetic 31% turnout in balloting that concluded April 6.
