Our fifth annual celebration of local musicians was a big hit, with over 100 musicians playing in 10 venues all over historic, downtown Carbondale. Starting on Friday night, we got to enjoy some of our best local musicians displaying their musical talent to huge crowds enjoying 1,000 fresh Maine lobsters in the Town Plaza. The lobster dinner was delicious, the beverages were great and affordable, and we raised money for the CRMS preschool by holding a race Saturday morning. It was quite a sight to see the little ones running down Fourth Street to the background music of Chariots of Fire.Thanks to the Town of Carbondale Board and their staff for bringing great live music, excellent food and drink, and many locals (and people from out of town) to see what an amazing party this little village can create. Woodsie and the town recreation staff made sure that about 1,500 people had the chance to have a great dinner along with a very tasty variety of wine, beer and margaritas. Many thanks to Jeff Jackel and the Town Board of Trustees for helping fund this event. The profits generated at the event paid many of the musicians and the expenses. It’s nice to throw an amazing party that pays for itself.What a treat to have KDNK broadcasting some of the incredible live music and doing interviews of locals around the fest.
