Readers Say Thanks
Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Hogback Hustle 5K race in New Castle a big success. Thanks to all of the businesses and individuals who donated money and prizes, especially Randy Mandel and Skyler DeBoer; Alpine Bank; Factory Surplus; The New Castle Chamber of Commerce; Alpine Women’s Care; The A-Team Realtors; Jason M. Bienia, DDS; Kinga and Bruce Fauser; Rocky Mountain Realtors; Sopris Surfers; Rodeway Inn; KMTS; and too many others to list here. Your contributions covered the race expenses, which means 100 percent of the registration fees collected will go directly to Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers and Boy Scout Troop 221. Your support is greatly appreciated! Thanks also to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped the event run smoothly. And last but not least, thank you to all of the participants who came out and gave it their all. I hope you enjoyed the race, and I look forward to seeing you all again next year.Eileen Wysockirace director, Hogback Hustle 5KNew Castle
Our son, Wyatt Harris, just returned from the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) in Washington, D.C. He was nominated by his band teacher, Ms. Krista Espelien. We sent out 180 letters to friends, family and local businesses. Wyatt also spoke to several local organizations about funding his trip. With all our efforts, we raised a little more than $3,000. This was enough to pay for tuition, airfare, clothes and items needed for the trip. We are very thankful and feel very blessed that we were able to reach our goal so that he could attend. Wyatt came home telling us that the conference was awesome and he learned so much. He says his confidence level increased and he walked away a better leader. In no particular order, we would like to thank the following people and organizations for their donations and their support. Krista Espelien, close friends and family from across the United States, our loving church family, Rifle Middle School staff, The Rifle Lion’s Club, Preceptor Beta Sigma Phi, Rifle Moose Lodge, The American Legion, Commonwealth Title Co., Mountain Pest Control, Timberline Carpet Care, Columbine Ford, Intermountain Storage, Mountain Air Mechanical, South Bank Storage and Cruise Control. Wyatt talks about attending the Alumni Conference in Boston next summer. We look forward to him possibly attending NYLC when in high school. Again, thanks to all and God bless. Travis, Stephanie and Wyatt HarrisRifle
