Kiss-n-Squeal was really fun for Lindsey and me. We worked really hard to raise money for a very worthwhile organization, YouthZone. I want to thank the YouthZone team including Patty, Mary Jean, Lisa, Debbie, Rick (for the rafting trip), and Robin for being a great campaign manager. You are all wonderful! Thanks for everything. Also, thanks to Clayton at US Bank for the support and to Johnson Mini Golf for allowing us to host our event at the park. Also thanks to my dedicated teammate, Lindsey for working so hard at raising all that money. You rock! To both of our families: Thanks for your support and effort in raising the money and always being there. To my dad for his good ideas with all of this. The car was fun. To this wonderful community that pulled together to raise a total amount of over $100,000 for YouthZone this year. Finally, I would like to say a very special thanks to all of you who donated at the very last minute. You Know Who You Are. It was much appreciated and we were thrilled to be in second place. I didn’t mind kissing the cute dogs instead of the pig. Thanks again for a great year of Kiss-n-Squeal. Kiley Carlson and Lindsey DeraddoThe Reserve Grand ChampsGlenwood Springs
On behalf of the Western Colorado Hunting Retriever Club, I would like to thank all of those who helped make our Inaugural Hunt test on July 29-30 in Rifle a success. First, I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this event happen. Secondly, I would like to thank the gentleman, who asked to remain anonymous, for the use of the land on which the event was held. Recognition must also be given to area sponsors, without their help it would be almost impossible to bring a national event of this size to our community. The following sponsors’ generosity made this event a success: Lafarge North America, Parachute Alpine Bank, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Rite Aid Drug, Rifle Wal-Mart, New Castle City Market, Elk Creek Mining Co. Bar & Grill, Brickyard Square, Butcher Block of Rifle, Mr. T’s Hardware, Amber Ridge Vineyard, Colorado Wine Room, Shirley and Wayne Brewer of Western Land & Homes, Confluence Casting, Action Shop Services, Rifle Starbucks, Broken Spoke Game Ranch, Grand Valley Pub & Grill.I also want to give a special thank-you to Doug Miller of Sportsman’s Warehouse (Grand Junction) and Steve Fisk of Lafarge North America for going above and beyond in helping this new club get a solid start.Rick Hunter, presidentWestern Colorado Hunting Retriever Club
Battlement Mesa Medical Center has the most amazing staff of professionals working to assist the community. I have been taking my children to see Jona Moore for over a year. Recently my son had an illness that lasted nearly a month. The Battlement Mesa Medical Center staff have been so caring and helpful it brings tears to my eyes. From the front desk, Brenda and Andrea always made exceptions to get my son in as soon as I called. They understood my concerns and treated them as their own. Crystal and Jona make a wonderful duo as they go about seeing and assessing patients. I would highly recommend visiting the clinic if you are ever in need. The staff will welcome you with open arms and hearts and help you throughout the healing process. I must especially thank Jona Moore, the physician’s assistant, for all of her support and expertise. Jona was relentless in her search for our son’s diagnosis. She tested every avenue available. By far, she is the most professional, diligent and caring person I have ever encountered in the medical field. She would even call on her days off and weekends just to check on our baby boy. I’m pleased to say our son has fully recovered, and I truly have the entire medical team in Battlement Mesa to thank. Tara KeifBattlement Mesa

Imagine a world in which there are two types of people: the “certified vaccinated” who, as the name implies, received a COVID vaccination, and those who didn’t.
