Readers Say Thanks

Good Morning! As of the writing of this letter, the results of the election are yet to be determined. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me in the general election, all those who contributed monetarily to my campaign, and all of you who put signs in your yards and spread the good word, either through Letters to the Editor or by daily contact with the citizens of Garfield County. It is greatly appreciated. Also, I owe a great deal of gratitude to my husband, Nick, and our family for their hard work, determination, understanding and patience during the campaign. Your emotional support was tremendous and a real boost. Thanks so much. I would also like to thank the Republican Party for its monetary and emotional support during the campaign. Also, a big thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who assisted in calling and getting out the vote. And, finally, I would like to thank the staff members of the Garfield County Assessor’s Office for enduring the campaign and all of its ups and downs. You are all great individuals and I thank you for your patience. I also thank you for recognizing that all derogatory remarks by phone and in the newspaper were not personal affronts, but simply politics. Thanks again to everyone.Shannon HurstGlenwood Springs

Grand Valley High School would like to extend a thank-you to Solvay Chemicals for a rewarding field trip. On Nov. 6, the students explored the history, laboratory practices, manufacturing and packaging of sodium bicarbonate at the Parachute plant. As an extension of classroom activities, students were shown a real-life application of chemistry in our community. Your support and continued involvement in Garfield County School District 16 is greatly appreciated. Brian Roddiger Parachute and the GVHS chemistry class
