The Carbondale Recreation Department would like to thank all of the sponsors who contributed to the Brunch with the Bunny and the Easter egg hunt. Both of these events were a huge success this year. Over a hundred kids attended the Brunch with the Bunny, and there were 300-plus kids who participated in our annual Easter egg hunt. Thanks to Charlie Chacos and Val Vosburg from the Village Smithy Restaurant for catering the Brunch with the Bunny and to Dan and Wynee Coleman from Coleman Brothers Construction for supplying the all of the goodie bags and party favors. Thanks to Wal-Mart, American Legion Post 100, the Floral Boutique, Peppinos Pizza, American National Bank, White House Pizza, Russets, City Market, Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, and Sandy’s Office Supply. With your sponsorships, we raffled off some great prizes at the end of the hunt. I couldn’t do these two events without help. Thanks to all of the volunteers, Dallas Groves, Bobby Barker, Dianna Nye, Lark Anderson, Camy Britt, Valerie Loertscher, Monique Rodriguez, Jake Strack Loertscher, Mark Loertscher, Don Wisdom, David Hayes, Ramiro Billegas, Tucker and Wyatt Farris. You all were awesome and made sure everything was set up and ready to go on time. I look forward to next year!Chris Loertscher, recreation coordinatorTown of Carbondale Recreation Department

The Advocate Safehouse Project celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2007, and we had a wonderful opportunity given to us on March 30 by the Academy of Western Slope Artists and Musicians (AWSAM). They hosted one of the St. Mary’s Performance Series as a fundraiser for the Advocate Safehouse Project. It was an amazing event.I want to thank AWSAM and the three classical pianists who made it possible: Linda Jenks, Terry Todd and Andrew Todd. We are so fortunate to have such talented musicians in our area. They performed pieces that originated from all over the world. Not only were we exposed to some marvelous music, but we were also educated on each piece of music by the performers. I also want to thank the individuals who attended this music event in Rifle. They all helped the Advocate Safehouse Project celebrate its 20th Anniversary and enjoy an incredible music extravaganza.Julie OlsonExecutive DirectorAdvocate Safehouse Project
