Readers Say Thanks

The Frontier Historical Society would like to send out many thanks to everyone who made our annual Vintage Base Ball game a rousing success. First and foremost, thanks to all of the men who played on both the Yampah Stars and Glenwood Sluggers. We obviously couldn’t put this on without you. Yampah Stars team: Jeff Caspersen, Clay Hawkins, Connor Jackson, Ray Mitchell, Jeff Rice, Keith Webster, Rob Tramazzo, Mark Howard and Dane Wilson. Glenwood Sluggers team: Ben Fout, Dale Stevens, Dale Shrull, Jim Hawkins, Greg Colasinki, Rick Fout, Dan Bokenko, Mark Feinsinger and Jon Nestor. Thanks also to John Hines for all of his extra effort getting the field ready for play, coaching new players and umpiring the game.Special thanks go out each year to Connie Lewis for her incredible posters for our events. Thanks to Frontier Historical Society board members Mark Howard and Ann Gremel for manning the concession stand. Thanks also to Sharill Hawkins who helped with concessions and clean-up, and the Waibel family for photos. Thanks to all of you who came out to watch the game. The crowd is what makes this event so much fun.Last but not least, many thanks go out to the Post Independent for the awesome coverage we had this year. If you haven’t had the chance, check out the audio slide show of the game on http://www.postindependent.com. It’s impressive.Cindy Hines, Frontier Historical Society Museum directorGlenwood Springs
