Readers Say Thanks

Thanks to all the gracious and generous folks of this community. While my children and I have endured much adversity, it reached the most unimaginable level of epic proportion Oct. 13, 2006. Since then, my son Chaz has undergone two Flight for Life trips to Children’s Hospital, three more surgeries and a total of almost 13 weeks of hospitalization. This has been the most stressful and difficult time of my life. Because of the incredible angels in this community and their unconditional support, we have not only survived, but we have laughed and loved on a daily basis. The entire community probably knows the toll this experience has had on myself and my daughter, Sequoia. Now we must leave our home of many years and are relocating to the Denver area, per the advice of Chaz’s doctors. We would not be standing if it were not for this loving community. We are so blessed to have been able to call Glenwood Springs our home, and we will thank the people and organizations for their commitment to us and our survival in the second half of this letter which will be published (hopefully) tomorrow. Please come by our house after 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, for a goodbye hug. Jerri, Chaz and Sequoia Israel Glenwood Springs
