Readers Say Thanks
The Glenwood Springs Cross Country team has many thanks to give for the great support we’ve received this season. Beginning this summer, we thank the Spring Valley campus of Colorado Mountain College for being great hosts for our first summer team camp. Additionally, Johan Aberger of the Experiential Education Department led our team through a great team-building session on their ropes course. We also thank Sunlight Mountain Resort for letting us stay in their lodge for our fall team camp. Thanks to Independence Run & Hike, a great local running shop in Carbondale, which has continually supported our team this season with a team shoe-fitting night and great discounts for the kids on shoes, clothing and accessories. Also, thanks to Valley View Hospital, which is buying new equipment bags for our team.Last Friday we held the first Demon 5K citizen’s race, which was a great fundraiser for our team. Thanks to everyone who came and ran the race and supported our team. The great turnout we had from the community is helping us buy new uniforms and warm-ups for our team. Thanks to everyone who helped set up and clean up for the race, particularly Larry and Dee Gepfert. Thanks to Paul Salmen and Nancy Reinisch for use of their clock. And, thanks to Vitamin Cottage, which donated food for the post-race festivities. Finally, thanks to the Post Independent for help with advertising and promoting our team to the community.Again, our cross country team extends many thanks for all of the support we’ve received.
