Readers Say Thanks

Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

Thanks to everyone who sent cards and phone calls on the death of our mother and grandmother, Maria Buljung.Stefani KindallGlenwood Springs

Having arrived at a point in my life that I find myself reflecting back and thinking of some of the many people who have had a profound impact on my life, I have chosen to publicly thank a few of these people. Coach Stubler, Coach Miller, Owen Metcalf, Lee Wittwer, Mr. Fritz Bramble and, especially, Miss Patsy Guadnola.Between Mr. Bramble and Miss Guadnola, as I was beginning what I thought was going to be my life’s path, they helped me develop a compassion for the music of the great composers, such as Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Handel and countless others. However, my respect for them came from Miss Guadnola. While sitting in the chorus room in high school, from freshman to senior, preparing songs for concert, the Christmas program, or getting ready for a short trip to the nursing home, Miss Guadnola always had our choir in sharp form. We were the best.To Mr. Bramble and especially Miss Guadnola, I want to say, “Thank you very much.”Whether traveling through the badlands of Utah, listening to the preamble to “2001 A Space Odyssey” or “The Sabre Dance” or climbing one of the many mountain passes in Colorado with “Symphony No. 5” sounding out of my stereo’s speakers, I am constantly reminded of Miss Guadnola and Mr. Bramble. When I put on my headphones with my CD player, seeking solace from a hectic day, once again I find myself saying thank you. A lifetime of thank-yous.George V. SmithGlendale, Ariz.

Sometimes in life you meet those people that you just cannot forget. I want to say thank you to one of them.Thank you, Dr. Setterberg and staff. When I first met him, I was not happy with my smile. That was almost 20 years ago. I moved away for about six years, and when I came back, he still remembered me and my family and the conversations we had about fixing my smile. For a doctor to remember you like that was a terrific feeling.I finally decided to get that smile fixed, and it was the best decision I ever made. I smile so much more and have a lot more self-confidence.So thank you, Dr. Setterberg and staff, for always being there. Your staff is incredible, they are always friendly, polite and always have a smile on their faces, too.Thank you again for a wonderful smile.Sandy EverettSilt
