Readers Say Thanks

I would like to publicly thank all those who have been so helpful after Paul’s recent heart attack. I would especially like to thank Carrie Click, Kelley Cox, Grady Hazelton, Steve Boat, Dale Ciborowski, Brett Jolley, Chris McComas and Robin Slattery, the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, the Citizen Telegram and all those who sent their thoughts and prayers. I would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction for saving Paul’s life.

He’s home now and doing well. But we have a new rule in our house ” tell the other person when you’re having chest pains.

Thanks to Renick Stevenson, artist-in-residence, for teaching the recent, free-of-charge, wonderfully engaging and informative “Grief and Creativity Workshop” at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts. I attended it, and benefited greatly.

All of us have unexpressed grief and other suppressed emotions that are keeping us from being our best. To gather with others, in a confidential setting, and share our pain together is really very special. I never thought sharing my pain would be exhilarating (hardly), but it was ” and therapeutic. It’s also fun to do the artwork. You don’t have to be artistic.

I encourage others to attend the next Grief and Creativity Workshop the last weekend of March. Glenwood is very lucky to have something like this, of such high quality, at no cost. If you wish to attend, contact Renick at 989-529-3965.
