Readers Say Thanks

Glenwood Medical Associates would like to thank all of the volunteers who participated in this year’s free school athletic physicals. GMA provides the facility, equipment and supplies for this valued service. We appreciate the teachers and coaches who help facilitate this program every year.

Special thanks to Dr. Bruce Lippman who founded the event and recruits his fellow providers to work late on Wednesday. Terri Brokering handles the logistics and coordination to make it happen. Finally, a big thanks to the following individuals who donate their time to provide this free medical service for our middle school and high school athletes.

Dr. Bruce Lippman Sr.; Mary Harrel Lawrence, NP; Dr. Bruce Lippman Jr.; Donna Roberts; Dr. Paul Salmen; Terri Brokering; Dr. Brian Murphy; Mari Brennan-Combs; Dr. Randy Ross; Marco Salmen; Dr. Doug Yajko; Shelly Weddell; Dr. Maria Chansky; Kristy Moore; Dr. Robert Adams; Lisa Moore; Dr. Bob Brokering; Jennifer Phillips; Dr. Matt Goodstein; Dorinda Screen; Dr. Dan Thimsen; and Tim Burns.

American Legion Post 83 gives a salute of thanks to the following for making the 2008 Memorial Day Ceremony a successful one. Pastor Jeff Carlson and Mr. Bob Johnson shared many great words of wisdom and reverence. Singers Ron Milhorn and Trenton Butts, as well as trumpeter Walter Gora, were complimented by many individuals for their musical portions of the ceremony. Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts of Troop 225 reverently placed the flags at half-mast. The women of the auxiliaries gracefully placed the wreaths. A special thanks goes to the Noon Rotarians and Troop 225 for assisting with the placing of the more than 500 flags. Vast appreciation goes to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent and KMTS for the annual coverage.

Perhaps the greatest thanks goes to an increasing amount of the community members who dedicate some time from their Memorial Day weekend to honor the fallen veterans.
