For more than 10 years, Glenwood Springs has promoted the “Ski Swim Stay” package every ski season. The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Sunlight Mountain Resort, the Hot Springs Lodge & Pool, and 14 local lodges team up once again to offer competitive prices on lift tickets, pool passes, and accommodations. Prices start at $57 per person for a one-night stay, based upon two people per room. Children younger than 12 ski free with every paying adult, which results in a savings of $25 per child. This is one of the most affordable ski packages in Colorado. The Ski Swim Stay package is extremely popular with families living in the Front Range because of the three-hour drive and the ability to stay overnight and relax in the pool. More than 5,600 packages are now sold per year, which is more than double the number sold in the 2001-02 season. An extensive advertising campaign, depicting a new Ski Swim Stay logo, is in place in Denver newspapers. Several marketing representatives from Glenwood Springs attended the Colorado SnowSport Expo in November. The booth was outfitted with a “Wheel of Fortune”-type game, which attracted hundreds of enthusiastic attendees trying their luck at winning a Sunlight lift ticket, Hot Springs Pool pass, Yampah Spa and Vapor Caves pass, or various other prizes.Visitors can also add a visit to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park by asking any Ski Swim Stay property about cave tours. With additional activities now available in the winter, we hope to extend vacationers’ length of stay by at least one more night.Detailed information about the Ski Swim Stay package is available at http://www.sunlightmtn.com.Lori Hogan is the tourism marketing director for the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association.
