Steven Ivie

Steven Ivie, 49, passed away June 1, 2006.

Steve was born July 20, 1956, in Meeker, to Lenard and Peggy Ivie. He was raised in New Castle, where he also raised his two children.

Steve graduated from Rifle High School.



In 1986, Steve committed his life to Jesus Christ. He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, to help establish a church under the leadership of Pastor Craig McCune.

Steve met the love of his life, Barbara Hale, in 1996. They were married in Salt Lake City, where they resided and worked together in the ministry.



Steve and Barbara returned to New Castle in 2003 to further pursue the plan that God had for them.

Steve was a man of many qualities. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends, his generosity, his humor, his integrity and his faith and love for his Lord, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife; daughter Bobbie Jo (Jeremy) Albertson; son Chad (Angela) Ivie; brother Mark Ivie; father Lenard Ivie; and grandchildren Madison, Mackenzie, Ethan and Emma.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Roaring Fork Hospice, P.O. Box 1970, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.

There will be a celebration of his life at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the New Creation Church, 44161 Highway 6, New Castle, CO 81647.

Farnum-Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
