Thanksgiving Happenings

Rivers Restaurant is open from 2-8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, offering the regular menu along with a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings or a traditional ham dinner with all the trimmings, with a choice of pumpkin or pecan pie. Reservations are highly recommended.

The Roaring Fork High School Student Council would like to offer an open invitation to a free Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the new Roaring Fork High School auditeria. Bring family, friends or just yourself.

A local gas station and coffee shop, Sherry’s Cafe, will open its door to those in need, with a hot turkey and ham meal from 9 a.m. until noon Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 22. The meal will be free, and all are welcome.

Slow-roasted turkey, honey ham, traditional mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, fruit salad and Sherry’s Cafe’s famous green chili will be on the menu.



Sherry’s also has computer access with Internet, so guests can write home and have a warm and delicious Thanksgiving.

During the week of Thanksgiving, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21, 23, 24 and 25, including the Iron Mountain Tramway, 70-minute guided cave tours, the Canyon Flyer, the Lookout Grille and gift shop. The park will be closed Thanksgiving Day so our employees can spend the holiday with their families.
