2014 professional rodeo season underway for local cowgirls

Rifle’s C.J. Vondette leaped into the top 20 in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association standings with big finishes in Billings, Mont., and Casper, Wyo.

Vondette collected $2,377 for a second place finish in Billings. Racing to an eighth place finish in Casper drew Vondette an additional $234 for her 16.04 seconds worth of work.

Currently, Vondette sits in 17th position in the WPRA world standings and in first place in the Mountain States Circuit standings.

Ronnie Will of Silt made her 2014 debut count, collecting $760 for a fourth place finish in Casper with her time of 15.93. Will is currently in third place in the Mountain States Circuit and in 66th position world wide.
