Guadalupe Yolanda Cortes de Saville

Sept. 19,1943 – Oct. 13, 2013

Guadalupe Yolanda Cortes de Saville, 70, of Parachute, Colo., died on Oct. 13, 2013. She was born on Sept. 19, 1943, to Jose Cortes Munos and Elisa Gonzales Fuentes in Guadalajara, Jal. Mexico. Guadalupe married Robert Stephen Saville on Jan. 12, 1969, in Guadalajara. They had six children.



Guadalupe is survived by her husband and six children, as well as 11 of her siblings.

Services were held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rifle, Colo. A rosary was said at 10 a.m., mass at 11 a.m., with a reception that followed. Full obituary at riflefuneralhome.com.



Ellen Ann Elliot

April 29, 1936 – Oct. 19, 2013

Ellen Ann Elliott (Ellie), 77, of Rifle, Colo., passed away at her home Oct. 19, 2013, with her loving family by her side.

Ellie was born April 29, 1936, in Holdingord, Minn. She was one of seven children born to the late August and Theresia (Rolfes) Knoll. Ellie spent the first half of her life in Minnesota, moving to Colorado in 1982, where she spent her remaining years.

She loved spending time with her family, friends and her cat, Mr. Lilly. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling and watching birds.

Ellie will forever be remembered by her devoted children, Scott Elliott of DeBeque, Jeanne Elliott of Glenwood Springs and Lisa (Tim) Zeman of Rifle; beloved grandchildren, William (Amanda) Zeman of Rifle and Dakota Zeman of Rifle; treasured great-grandchild, Coulter Zeman of Rifle; her brother, William (Lorraine) Knoll; sisters, Arlene (Bruce) DePew and Joyce (Roman) Kuklock, all from Minnesota; along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frederick G. Knoll and Sylvester A. Knoll; and two sisters, Esther R. Shank and Clara C. Sowada.

In her death, Ellie’s last wish was to help as many people as she could. She requested her body be donated for cancer research and the remains cremated. A celebration of her life for immediate family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be sent to the wonderful people who gave such compassionate care to Ellie during her time of need at the Calaway Young Cancer Center, 1906 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.

Margie Joan Plum

Oct. 10, 1934 – Oct. 20, 2013

Margie Joan Plum passed away Oct. 20, 2013. Margie was born in Goodland, Kan., to Ernest and Marie Bowman on Oct. 10, 1934. In 1954, Margie married Kenneth Plum. They have three daughters. Margie was devoted to her family and loved gardening.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at the Rifle United Methodist Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle, followed by a luncheon at the Lovell Building. James Guy Builteman

June 2, 1934 – Oct. 17, 2013

James Guy Builteman passed away Oct. 17, 2013. James was born in Yale, Okla., to Guy and Mary Builteman on June 2, 1934. In 1989, James married Judith Medina. They have two children.

James proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force, was a retired fireman as well as a member of the National Rifle Association and the Rifle Sportsman’s Club.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Rifle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Full obituary at riflefuneralhome.com.
