Rifle vs. Palisade in alumni football game

Alumni of the Rifle High School football team are selling tickets to an alumni football game scheduled for Friday, July 25.

The Bears of years past will play Palisade alums at 7 p.m. at Bears Stadium in Rifle.

The game, which is being showcased and organized by Alumni Football USA, will feature former Rifle football players along with former Palisade football players. The roster for the Rifle team includes former players who graduated in 2014 all the way down to 1981 Rifle High graduates. This will be a full-contact football game.

Partial proceeds from the pre-emptive ticket sales will be donated to the family of Amelia Zemlock, a 17-year-old Rifle High student who has been diagnosed with bone cancer. Other ticket proceeds will go to the family of former Rifle resident Larry Schaffer, who died in a helicopter crash earlier this year.

Tickets can be purchased at City Market in Rifle or at Hy-Way Feed and Ranch Supply in Silt.
