Citizen Telegram wins two Colorado Press awards

The Citizen Telegram took home two awards from this year's Colorado Press Assocaition awards, including a first place for Kyle Mills' photo "Ominous clouds downfield" from the Coal Ridge vs. Meeker football game last fall.

The Citizen Telegram of Rifle came away with two awards at the recent Colorado Press Association Convention, held in Aurora.

Photographer Kyle Mills took home first place for a sports photo, reprinted here, of ominous clouds on the horizon last football season as the Coal Ridge Titans battled the Meeker Cowboys.

Editor Alex Zorn also claimed first place for his spring 2018 story, “From horses to hemp,” about Parachute rancher John Lyons reinventing himself from renowned horse trainer to growing hemp for a variety of CBD products.
