Elsa Yvonne Cook
Elsa Yvonne Cook, 47, of Rifle, CO, died on Saturday, August 22, 2015. She died of natural causes. Elsa was born on May 28, 1968, in Euclid, Ohio, to her parents, David Marshall Cook and Gloria June Palmer. After moving to Colorado in 1987, Elsa became a member of Mountain Valley Developmental Services located in Glenwood Springs. Elsa’s hobbies included weaving, a skill she learned while working at the Mountain Valley Weaving Studio. Other hobbies included journaling, going out for dinner and watching “Little House on the Prairie.” Elsa loved volunteering weekly at the Silt, Co, Library. Elsa is remembered fondly by her staff and peers at MVDS, her dear friend Charles Willman, as well as her Twin Sister, Mary Cook, of Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, her loved ones have asked for Donations to be made to The Silt Day Program at Mountain Valley Developmental Services.

Garfield County District Re-2 transitions more students to online learning, quarantines
Students from Rifle and Coal Ridge high schools were asked Friday to transition to online learning and quarantine for 10 days, Garfield County District Re-2 announced.
