Elvera “Tootie” Long

Elvera “Tootie” Long passed away at her home Saturday morning, October 3, 2015, at the age of 97. She is survived by many family members and friends. She asked that this poem be her obituary.

“When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.

Why cry for a soul that’s free?

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.

Miss me, but let me go.”

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 9, 2015, at 11:00am at Fairview cemetery in Basalt, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1901 Grand Ave #206, Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601.
