Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Crime Report – April 10, 2014

Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Burglary report: On April 2 at 7:18 a.m., deputies took a report of a residential burglary and vehicle theft in the Parachute area. The case is under investigation.



DUI: Deputies responded to a traffic complaint along County Roads 300 and 300A on April 3 at 6:40 p.m. Marvin Wayne Troxel, 55, of Battment Mesa, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, having an open alcholic beverge container in his vehicle, littering, disobeing a traffic control device, careless driving and prohibited use of weapons. He was taken to jail.



Burglaries: On April 4 at 9 a.m. and April 5 at 11:28 a.m., deputies took seperate reports of residential burglaries and vandalism in the Parachute area. The cases are under investigation.

Traffic arrest: Deputies made a traffic stop near County Roads 293 and 294 on April 5 at 1:49 p.m. Clayton Edward Clingan, 25, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a revoked license, not wearing his seatbelt, failure to use turn signals and was taken to jail.

Warrant arrest: Deputies made a traffic stop near County Roads 293 and 294 outside Rifle on April 5 at 1:49 p.m. James Arthur Ward, Jr., 25, of Rifle, was arrested on an active warrant and taken to jail.

Traffic summons: Deputies contacted a man in a vehicle on County Road 301 on April 6 at 6:05 p.m. Valentine Murillo Gonzalez, 21, of Parachute, was issued a summons for driving with a revocked license, eluding and having only one license plate on his vehicle.

Dog at large: An animal control deputy responded to a complaint of a dog running at large in the 100 block of Bent Creek Circle in Battment Mesa on April 7 at 3:09 p.m. Christian Shaunta Bellard, 29, of Battlement Mesa, was issued a summons.

Dogs at large: Deputies responded to a citizen complaint of dogs at large on Ridge View Place in Battment Mesa on April 7 at 5:43 p.m. Marcella Ann Boschee, 26, of Battlment Mesa, was issued a summons.

Alarm: Deputies responded to an alarm in a residence in the 100 block of Colt Drive in the Rifle area on April 8 at 3:03 p.m. This case has been closed/inactive pending further leads.

Dog offenses: Deputies responded to a call on Emerald Lane in Battment Mesa on April 8 at 3:31 p.m. Misty D. Cardenas, 28, of Battlement Mesa, was issued a summons for allowing her dog to run at large, harboring a vicious animal and not having the dog licensed.
