Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Crime Report – April 3, 2014

Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a possible criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 100 block of Silverton Circle in Battlement Mesa on March 27 at 9:45 a.m. This case is closed/inactive pending further leads.



Driving arrest: Deputies contacted a man in a vehicle on County Road 319 outside Rifle on March 29 at 3:41 p.m. Matthew Allen Parks, 28, of De Beque, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a revoked license and taken to jail.



Criminal trespass: On March 30 at 8 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a criminal trespass on U.S. Highway 6 east of Rifle. This case is closed/inactive pending further leads.

Domestic violence: Deputies responded to a call on Snowberry Place in Battlement Mesa on March 30 at 11:47 p.m. Robin Lipe, 44, of Battlement Mesa, was arrested on suspicion of second degree criminal tampering and domestic violence and taken to jail.

Weapons arrest: Deputies contacted a man in the 300 block of Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa on April 1 at 5:09 a.m. Burl Wayne Vaskin, Jr., 53, of Battlement Mesa, was arrested on suspicion of possession of weapons by a previous offender, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and menacing. He was taken to jail.
